Float the Buffalo River
Pick your boat, we will handle the rest
The Buffalo is a gentle, clear river, and how you float it is mostly a question of who you are bringing. Every rental comes with a paddle where one is needed, a life jacket, and the shuttle ride.
A signed waiver is required before anybody launches. Anyone twelve or under wears a life jacket the whole way down.
What we rent
Each boat has its own minimum age — the table below says which suits your group.
Kayaks
Hard-shell sit-on-top, single and tandem. 300 lb in a single, 450 lb in a tandem. Ages thirteen and up.
Canoes
Two adults to a canoe, both eighteen or over — and the only boat here a dog can ride in.
Tubes
Singles from age ten, doubles for a parent and a child from five, and cooler tubes for your own cooler.
Rafts
Six- and eight-person rafts. Two adults are needed to steer one.
Shuttle Service
Bringing your own boat? We will shuttle it. Bring your own paddles and life jackets.
Which boat suits us?
We have young children
A double tube takes a parent and a child from age five, which is the lowest age of anything we rent. A single tube is for ten and up.
We want to bring the dog
Take a canoe. Dogs ride in the canoe, and they are welcome at the RV sites and in the campground too — just not in the cabins or the lodge.
There are teenagers in the group
Kayaks take ages thirteen and up. Sit-on-tops sit on the deck rather than inside a cockpit, so getting back on in the water is easy.
Is the shuttle extra?
The shuttle ride is included with every rental. If you are floating your own boat, we can shuttle that too — bring your own paddles and life jackets.
